🩷💜Meet Faith and KC💜🩷

These sweet seasoned girls are in their prime at 18yrs(KC) and 20+yrs(Faith).

They are the best of friends and met each other here at our rescue and bonded over their rehabilitation journey with us.

These girls are our immediate go to when we’re loading up the kids and headed out to the trails. We have four kids and let them ride double on these girls. No spook, buck, bite, no funny business AT ALL EVER. My sons hat flies off regularly when we ride and neither one bats an eye and actually they’ll both stop to let him grab his cowboy hat.

🦄🩷🪽We will start with Faith. Faith was sold at auction by the only owner she’s ever had. An older man whose had her since she was 2yrs old. She was used to check and gather cattle, check fences, was kept with his cattle, and he rode her fairly often and she’s very well broke. She will side pass, stand saddled when you get off without tying her up, she’s gentle with the kiddos, especially little ones around her feet. She loves attention, she will stand tied all day, loves baths, loads right up, will walk anywhere you point her. Walks through creeks and up hills, over logs, you name it, she’s done it. She will pick up to a trot or lope when asked, she’s mid totem pole in a herd, she does have cushings but is not on meds for it- we just shave her down in the spring as it warms up. She’s a petite girly around 14.1hh. Perfect confidence builder for a kiddo and you can pony her off KC and vice versa. 🦄🩷🪽

🦄💜🪽KC is an 18yr old mare- about 14.3hh. I don’t have a big back story on her- all I know is I pulled up to Bowie to pick up a different horse, and she was tagged in her mane and gonna be heading out on the next truck to Mexico. She was really sweet and beyond emaciated. She also had severe string halt. I asked about her and they said some people brought her in when they bought some land that had been sitting abandoned out in west tx for nearly a year. She wandered up the day they moved there and they didn’t know what to do with her being so thin so they took her to Bowie. I took her home to our rescue rehab ranch and started her on our refeeding program, slowly introduced all the good nutrients, she packed on weight and her string halt disappeared. Once she was fat and healthy, we do a riding exam to see where she’s at training wise before we either retrain or rehome. To our surprise KC was very well broke as well. Neck reins, moves out with no hesitation, no spook, buck or bite. No kicking or rearing, absolutely NO VICES. She will walk through absolutely anything and will trail ride ALL DAY. She carries two of my kiddos or myself or husband and a kiddo just fine. Tandem riding has never been an issue for these girls. She’s super gentle with any age kiddo, will lope off without a second thought when asked, and has good feet. 🦄💜🪽

🩷💜Both of these girls are our favorite here at the rescue- and as much as I’d love to keep them, we know what we do for them just prepares them for their forever home so we can continue helping others like them. We have several other horses for adoption too, so if these two don’t work for you, we may have others. 💜🩷

🩷🩷I’m telling you now though, I’ve got a couple personal horses I’d rather rehome than these two girls if it came down to it. They are the absolute best and really gave my kiddos confidence to ride horses and ride alone at that. These are the horses people WOULD DO ANYTHING TO OWN. These are the horses you can trust your toddler to climb up on and be taken care of. 💜💜

🦄🪽They are worth their weight in gold, and if they don’t get adopted ever, I wouldn’t be upset about it- but if that’s the case yall come adopt the rest of these ones over here so I can lower the rescues feed bill a tad. lol.

We truly love these two girls and they must go to the absolute BEST home that will keep them together- that’s non negotiable. There’s an adoption contract as well to protect them from ever ending up in a shitty situation or back at auction.
